May Holidays in Russia: BBQ Time!

In Russia, May holidays mean one thing: BBQ season is officially open! As soon as the weather gets warm, people grab their friends, pack some food, and head to the countryside. Parks, forests, and summer houses are full of happy people, music, and the amazing smell of grilled food.

For many families, it's a favorite tradition. People relax, chat, play games, and cook together. The star of the day? шашлык, of course! It's not just food—it's a whole vibe. Good weather, good company, and great BBQ. What could be better?

Bang Bang Chicken Skewers recipe:
These juicy chicken skewers are super easy and seriously tasty.

What you need:
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic or garlic powder
  • Chili powder
  • A little oil

How to make them:

1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, about 3–4 cm. This size is perfect because they cook quickly and stay juicy.
2. Put the chicken into a bowl.
3. Add salt, black pepper, garlic (or garlic powder), chili powder, and a little oil.
4. Mix everything well, so all the chicken is nicely coated.
5. Put the chicken pieces onto skewers.

Bang Bang Sauce:
  • Mayonnaise
  • Sweet chili sauce
  • Sriracha
  • Garlic powder
  • A little rice vinegar

Mix all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl until smooth.

Grill the skewers until golden and cooked through. When you flip the chicken, brush it generously with the sauce. This makes the chicken extra juicy, sticky, and full of flavor.

Serve hot and enjoy—these skewers are an absolute crowd-pleaser!
