Carnival in Venice. Bauta mask or Casanova's mask.

Casanova's Mask
The Bauta mask or Casanova's mask is one of the most iconic Venetian masks, designed to completely hide the wearer’s identity. Unlike other masks, it has a square jaw and a beak-like chin, allowing people to speak, eat, and drink without removing it. Traditionally, it was worn with a red or black cape and a tricorn hat.

This mask was not just for Carnival—it was used in daily life! Nobles and commoners could wear it to move freely without revealing their social status. Today, it remains a symbol of Venice’s mysterious past.
