Skewers recipe - day 7

May Holidays in Russia: better than take-out!

May holidays in Russia = BBQ time. As soon as the weather gets warmer, people go outside, meet friends, and start grilling. It’s a big tradition called “shashlik time.”

Parks, forests, and even small yards fill with the smell of meat on the grill. Everyone brings food, music, and good vibes. It’s not fancy—it’s chill, tasty, and all about spending time together. Think cozy fire, laughter, and lots of delicious bites.

What you need:

  • onion
  • garlic
  • yogurt
  • tomato paste

How to make the skewers:

Grate one onion to get the onion juice. Grate some garlic. Add yogurt, tomato paste, olive oil, lemon juice and a little lemon zest. Mix in your favorite spice blend.
Combine everything well, then add chicken cut into bite-size pieces. Mix it so all the chicken is covered. Leave it to marinate for a while.
