Your friend: This is my first time here. One of my friends suggested it.
Server: Hello. Welcome to the Malibu Beach Fish and Seafood Restaurant! Here’s the dinner menu. Can I bring you the wine list?
Your friend: I’m not drinking wine tonight. Would you like to see the wine list?
You: Yes, I’d like to look at it. Thanks!
Server: Can I bring you anything to drink while you look at the menu?
Your friend : Yes. You could bring me some water, please.
You: Er, yes, water, no ice, please.
Your friend: They have quite a few appetizers (starters).
You: We could each order a different one and share. Ohhh, they have shrimp salad. I love prawns!
Your friend: Oh, sorry, I’m allergic to shrimp. Maybe the cheese plate instead?
You: That’s a good idea! What’s this? What’s a minestrone?
Your friend: It’s a kind of soup.
You : Oh, OK. I wouldn’t like that. I don’t want soup tonight. I’m going to order just a main course and a side.
Your friend : Good idea!
-Can I get a bill, please? (Bill, please)
-Would you like to pay by card, or cash?
-Card, please. Do you have cash for tips?
