Discovering the Musée d'Orsay: Art, Tips & Movie Magic
The Musée d'Orsay is one of Paris’s most beautiful museums. It’s inside a former train station and holds amazing art from the 19th and early 20th centuries. You can check out famous works by Monet, Van Gogh, and Degas. Fans of the movie Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb might recognize this museum—it was featured in the film!
To enjoy your visit, start early and enter through the main entrance on Rue de la Légion d’Honneur. Begin with the Impressionist gallery on the top floor, then look around the sculpture area on the ground floor. Don’t miss Van Gogh’s Starry Night Over the Rhône.
If you want a special experience, try visiting during the “Night at the Museum” on Thursday evenings, when the museum stays open later. It’s usually quieter and more relaxed.
After your visit, you can head to the nearby Seine River for a walk or grab lunch at a café.
